Jani Holthaus earns national honors at Phi Beta Lambda conference

Five members of the Upper Iowa University Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Chapter won awards in four events recently at the National PBL Leadership Conference held in San Antonio, Texas.

Jani Holthaus of Waukon, IA, received fourth place in the team event, emerging business issues.

Eight Upper Iowa students and two advisers attended the national conference. During conference opening ceremonies, Dr. Summer Zwanziger Elsinger was recognized as the outstanding local chapter advisor for the state of Iowa, and Lynn Isvik was recognized for her completion of a three-year term on the National Phi Beta Lambda Board of Directors.

PBL is the college division of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, the oldest and largest student business organization, devoted to students who are preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The organization's mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. During the National Leadership Conference, over 1,700 students from across the United States and two countries participated in business-related and leadership development workshops, elected national officers and had opportunities to expand their business networks, in addition to participating in more than 55 national competitive events.
