Samantha Vorwald of Worthington, IA, Recognized at Upper Iowa University 2015 Honors and Awards Banquet

Upper Iowa University recently held its 30th annual Scholarships and Awards Recognition Banquet and awarded 129 scholarships to students across the University. Recipients were selected by the UIU Honors and Awards Committee and the University academic divisions.

Samantha Vorwald was awarded the Dr. Louise P Herring Scholarship. This scholarship, provided by Dr. Louise Herring, English professor at Upper Iowa University from 1966-1974, is awarded annually to a student completing the sophomore year, to be selected by the English faculty on the basis of exemplary scholarship and sound character. Normally the scholarship is applied in equal portions to the student’s tuition during the junior and senior years.
