UIU's Student Philanthropy Council to host 'Gift of Giving'
Fayette, IA (12/01/2023) — The Student Philanthropy Council (SPC), a dedicated volunteer student group at Upper Iowa University (UIU), is proud to announce its upcoming fundraising initiative, 'SPC's Gift of Giving,' set to take place December 11 and 12. As philanthropic ambassadors for UIU, the SPC orchestrates student-led fundraising projects that aim to enhance the overall student experience and support crucial initiatives across the campus.
At the forefront of this year's GIFT OF GIVING are four impactful projects advocated by current UIU students. These initiatives reflect a diversity of needs and aspirations across campus, aiming to enhance the student experience and bolster the University's commitment to excellence in education and community engagement.
"An important element of UIU's strategic plan is to instill a culture of giving and service with our students," said Vice President for External Affairs Andrew Wenthe. "The Student Philanthropy Council members are leaders in this effort, and we ask all UIU supporters to step up and support the Gift of Giving."
The initiatives championed by SPC include: Classroom Improvements to purchase equipment, Athletic EmpowHERment initiatives for additional resources for women's sports, Campus Beautification projects to enhance the Fayette Campus, and SPC Gives Back which will provide free events to local high school students that offer insights into college preparedness through fun-filled events.
SPC fundraising initiatives are for the students, by the students. Past initiatives are highlighted at UIU.EDU/SPC.
"SPC carefully considered feedback and thoughtfully selected these four initiatives for this year's Gift of Giving," said SPC Leader Belle Wagner. "Strengthening the classroom, campus and student-athlete experience is important to us, as is finding fun ways to grow the student body at UIU."

Donations via Venmo @upperiowa are also accepted, allowing contributors to specify their preferred fund.
