Upper Iowa University Continues Commitment to Displaced Workers Through "Invest in You" Grant
Fayette, IA (04/07/2026) — Upper Iowa University (UIU) continues its commitment to supporting displaced workers through its Invest in You Grant, an initiative designed to help individuals affected by layoffs return to school or complete their degrees.
The Invest in You Grant provides eligible students with a $125 per course tuition grant, helping reduce financial barriers at a time when many families are navigating career transitions and economic uncertainty. The grant supports individuals who have been laid off from approved UIU partner employers and are pursuing coursework through UIU's flexible online and select on-campus programs.
"At Upper Iowa University, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools for resilience and renewal," said Kathy Franken, President & CFO of Upper Iowa University. "When individuals and families face unexpected challenges, it is our responsibility as an institution of higher education to respond with opportunity. The Invest in You Grant reflects our continued commitment to helping displaced workers regain momentum, build new skills, and move confidently toward their next chapter."
UIU's flexible course formats allow students to balance education with family and professional responsibilities. The Invest in You Grant is part of the University's broader mission to expand access to affordable, career-focused education for learners at every stage of life.
