Upper Iowa University Milwaukee plans for face-to-face classes

Fayette, IA (08/20/2020) — Upper Iowa University (UIU) will conduct face-to-face classes for Fall Session 1 at its Milwaukee education location beginning August 31. UIU was informed Wednesday, August 19, by the City of Milwaukee Health Department that the University's robust COVID Safety Plan had been approved.

"We remain confident that even while facing the challenges created by the global pandemic, UIU will continue to provide a safe environment, high quality education and excellent experiences for students in Milwaukee," UIU President William R. Duffy II said. "In addition to our entire team of faculty and staff, we are greatly appreciative to all of the health officials for their efforts in allowing us this opportunity for our students to return to the classroom."

UIU previously announced its plans to conduct face-to-face classes at its main campus in Fayette, Iowa, and education locations in Iowa (Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Quad Cities, Waterloo) and Illinois (Rockford) beginning August 31.

As part of its commitment to providing a safe learning environment. UIU has implemented a number of protocols for faculty, staff, students and the general public to follow at each of its education locations. University officials acknowledge that instructional changes may need to be made should external factors warrant, but the focus remains on planning for a safe return later this month.
